Mahanandhi is famous for the fresh water pools, which are so fresh that if you drop a coin we can view the coin in water. Water comes from the main shrine inside the temple. One important thing is that the normal people are allowed to touch the shrine and perform pujas over here. The water during the winter season will be very hot and vice versa during the summer. During the early mornings, the water is lukewarm and water gets cooled gradually with the rise in temperature.
